You probably remember that during your school days, physical education class always started with a warm-up exercise. Warm-up is an action that signals to the muscles not to be alarmed and to move well because intense movement is about to begin.
Even before we start performing or recording, we do a sound check to make sure the sound is heard as intended. Vocals and rappers sing songs to check their condition for the day, and performers relax their fingers. So what does the ‘warm-up’ look like for a band made up of only musicians? The song to introduce today is Soul Delivery’s “Soundcheck 7.”
“Soundcheck 7” begins with a funky groove fading in. The song is like a rehearsal before a performance, with Jun’s guitar and Ha-eun’s keyboard giving and receiving in a simple way over the smooth flowing synth drums and Yong-hoon’s rhythm.
The part where the song ends quickly as if there is more to come is also impressive. This single is not only a song, but I think it is a song that makes people look forward to Soul Delivery’s next move. It hasn’t been long since your regular album came out. Are you trying to do something again?
