Regardless of time and place, wandering is an inseparable element of musicians. Medieval European bards and Korean singers traveled all over the place singing, and modern singers also tour. The Brothers Grimm’s
For musicians, traveling is both about pioneering markets and creating new songs. As you travel to pursue legends scattered around the world and huge events that will change history, new songs are born. Musicians still travel for many reasons. And today, Soul Delivery released [NEW WAVE], which compresses their journey into one album.
[NEW WAVE] is an album like a free trip. Just as when you get in and out of the car during a trip and see a different scenery than before, the music’s tendency changes based on the sound checks inserted in between. Just as the most necessary thing when going on a journey is a pair of strong legs, Soul Delivery’s performance shows that it is not lacking in any way to travel the world of sound. In particular, it is very impressive that “Intro”, “FORTRESS”, and “YON” feel like one song. The cutting off once in track 4, “Soundcheck 4,” could have gone further, but I think it was intended to give the listener a break.
[NEW WAVE] is an album with bold aspirations. The bold naming of ‘New Wave’, the concept photo reminiscent of the sun, and the album cover seem to declare that Soul Delivery will be at the center of a new scene. It also shows that there are no boundaries in terms of genre. What they want to convey, like their names, may simply be their souls. Listen to [NEW WAVE] and feel the soul of soul delivery!
