Anxiety and excitement are two sides of the same coin. A young child holds boundless possibilities, doesn’t he? But as great as those possibilities are, so too is the chance of growing up the wrong way. Before one’s values are fully settled, there are so many environments, so much time, and so many people to pass through. And the anxiety and excitement that come from all of that keep us from sleeping. At the same time, they keep pushing us forward. The song to introduce today is “GOSU” by RAKUNELAMA.

GOSU is a song you shouldn’t listen to while working late into the night. You might get so absorbed in it that you get nothing done that day. Over its chewy groove, the vocals of Kang Min-seok and Kim Min-woo cling tightly. What’s especially striking is the flavor the words in the lyrics carry. It feels as though the sounds created by the tongue and the structures inside the mouth—meeting and parting—have been precisely machined to fit the groove. It’s a song that can’t be described with any word other than “delicious.”

The lyrics, urging us to drop the idle thoughts and just keep moving forward, are impressive too. Personally, whenever I get stuck editing the NUGS Radio and Nogari reels, I head outside and listen to this song on repeat as I walk. It emptied my mind so completely that I ended up walking for a full two hours. There’s simply no better song for clearing your head.

Is your head a little cluttered today? How about taking a walk while listening to RAKUNELAMA’s “GOSU”?
