At least when introducing music, I try to avoid using words like ‘neungkeok’ in the copy as much as possible. I want to listen to music as deeply as possible and introduce it well. But if this isn’t ‘Neukkak’, then what on earth is ‘Neukkak’? I think he’s crazy. Who are you talking about? I’m talking about matt matt, who suddenly appeared like a comet one day and is spreading amazing music.
matt matt released “Slide” following “ONE! TWO!” released last December. Park Hyun-tae’s contrasting textured kick and snare firmly take center stage, and Won Kim’s sticky guitar and bass lead the groove. matt matt’s performance flows smoothly, as if enjoying it without going against it. I think it’s really amazing that the sound source alone is so persuasive.
Amazing production and performances add persuasiveness to the lyrics. It continues like a monologue from someone who saw something moving away and felt the need to start over. The lyrics are about simply gliding towards an uncertain future.
Are you having a hard time in your head? How about taking some of the stress off your shoulders while listening to matt matt’s “Slide”?
